US Hurricanes 2024
Hurricane Helene tore a deadly path through the mountains of western North Carolina, dumping extreme rainfall and causing catastrophic flash flooding.
Then two weeks later, an even more powerful storm Hurricane Milton made landfall in Florida causing widespread damage. Over 5.5 million people were urged or ordered to evacuate their homes.
Over 240 storm-related deaths have been reported so far.
Samaritan’s Purse is providing relief throughout storm affected regions, including Watauga County, North Carolina—home to Samaritan’s Purse international headquarters in the town of Boone. Read more about our response here.
